Does anyone ride RAGBRAI and know of any open teams in the area?

Madison, I'd ask Sean or Alan Parsons...they're a couple of our assistant organizers who are big into biking and know more about it than I would.

The best places to look for a team are local cycling clubs, University or College cycling clubs or even bike shops will often have teams. I'm not sure of specific teams that are open however and a lot of the time these teams fill up almost immediately with repeat members. But it's absolutely worth asking around at these places anyway. Don't rule out a team in Iowa as well. As a former student from Iowa State I know there are loads of teams there and most are clubs with rotating students so there is typically openings. My inclination would be that most University clubs will be like this.
By all means visit the Ideas for Meetups area on this website for RAGBRAI which was started up by Sean (Assistant Org.) in order to gauge interest in finding people who want to do RAGBRAI this year. Who knows, given that we can gain enough interest and manage a way to get support for the ride we could possibly get a team going ourselves. Hope this helped some |

Thanks for the advice. We found an Iowa team that will have us. But if anyone is interested in riding sometime (sometime as in when it stops snowing) let me know.
