Any windsurfers???

user 16522941 Omaha, NE Post #: 1	Hello Everyone. I'm new here. I have been lurking for a couple months maybe. I can't seem to catch any of the events so far. I work until 7pm during the weekdays and work on Saturdays, so I can't make most of your get-togethers, but I can't wait to join you guys in an adventure!!!! Anyway. Does anyone here get into windsurfing or kiteboarding???? Any paddle boarders?

user 14012771 Omaha, NE Post #: 2	I would be interested!! I like the hiking, trail running, etc but I'm hoping that this group offers some more sports like rock climbing (I know they are working on that!) and windsurfing. That sounds so fun..

user 16522941 Omaha, NE Post #: 2	Nope, there is a group of guys that windsurf in the local area. The only thing you need is open water.... and wind! (around 5 mph to learn on and anything above for advanced riders) I've got a friend that was/is going to teach me, but has been busy lately. But I just said screw it and I am going to try and teach myself. I've seen all the how-to video's and I think I could pick it up fairly quickly with my wakeboarding background. I found a guy that's got some older windsurfing equipment that I might buy for a couple hundred bucks. But older gear isn't the greatest idea to purchase.... if something breaks, it could be hard to find replacement gear. And new equipment.... costs thousands.... Lake Cunningham is a good lake to go to, also Branched Oaks, etc.

user 14012771 Omaha, NE Post #: 3	I wonder if you can rent the gear from UNO? I only recently learned about their outdoor adventure center (or whatever it's called..)so I'm not sure how extensive the inventory is.
