Nacho Ride on the MoPac Trail

What:

Much like the Taco Ride on the Wabash the Nacho Ride is a 20 mile (roundtrip) bike ride on Lincoln's MoPac trail system to and from the "One Eyed Dog Saloon" in Eagle, NE. Just like the Taco Ride bring a bike light, helmet, water and look twice before crossing streets.

When:

Every Tuesday meeting at 5:30pm

Where:

At the MoPac Trailhead on 84th Street

If you're in Lincoln and have been looking for an awesome group to ride with than this is the ride for you. Chow down on some nachos, throw back a few beers and share some great conversation with like-minded riders.

I won't be able to normally attend this event because I can't make it to Lincoln by 5:30 from Omaha so our Event Host, William Fann, will be leading this trek. Contact him with any of your questions or concerns.

*Please call if you will be late or cannot make it so we are not waiting around for someone that won't show. Also, if you know you won't be able to make it but RSVP'd Yes a while ago then please out of consideration un-RSVP yourself.

Thanks everyone and have a great ride!

p.s. I want pictures.

Hi Alex, Street bikes, road bikes, mountain bikes, hybrid bikes, tandem bikes, recumbent and semi-recumbent, pedicabs, bike-cars, velomobiles, solar bikes, trikes, unicycles and tricycles. I think that just about covers it. I hope to see you there this coming Thursday. William

What kind of bikes do you use on these trails? Is a street bike OK?

    •  This ride was 10 miles to One Eyed Dog Saloon and 10 miles back, on rock trail. There is A LOT less tree coverage than the Wabash trail. We took a little detour through the town since we didn't know where the restaurant was...but you just go right where it looks like the trail ends for one block, then go left and you'll see it. We met the guy that started the ride and he was pretty excited to have 75 riders instead of 50 like they had last year. So, it's a much smaller scale than the Taco Ride but still a good time.
    •  The ride has about 75 people that attend it. I have been surprised by the lack of attendance by the Lincoln members. There is plenty of parking at the 84th street access. Because of the proximity of the park to my home, I may ride the bike to the trail in the future. The bar is not nearly as crowded as the one on the Taco ride; hence, the service is very good and the wait for orders relatively reasonable.
