I'm heading out to Platte River State Park Saturday, May 15th at 9:00am for some hiking and mountain biking. I've never been there but I hear the trails are nice, about 10 miles total, for both hiking and mountain biking. Therefore I plan to hike starting at 9:00am about 5 miles or up to 11:00, which ever comes first. After that at 11:00am take a short snack break and do some mountain biking.
The idea is if you want to come for a hike I'd love for you to join me, if you want to just mountain bike by all means simply join in for that around 11:00am, if you want to do both like I will be even better!
I don't have good trail maps right now to post but I will as soon as I find them. Here is a link to the parks website, Platte River State Park Nebraska
Please where comfortable hiking clothes and bring water. Also it's tick season and the bugs are out so spraying yourself with repellant and wearing something to cover your head is recommended. Also it's not a bad idea to bring some healthy snacks to replenish your energy for your self.
Find me: I think the best place to meet is in the parking lot for the parks main office building. That way if anyone wants a yearly pass they can buy one there and that's where we can get maps. You'll look for a black Nissan Xterra SUV with the Nebraska Adventure Group logo in the back window. If you show up for mountain biking a bit early you can wait for me there until I get back from my hike.
If you have questions contact me via email [masked] or if you have last minutes changes to your RSPV or get lost on your way there or are running a tad late my cell is [masked]
Hope to see you there for one of the activities or both!
