Guided Snowshoe Hike

I'm excited to announce our first snowshoe hike for the winter season!

This will be a guided snowshoe hike through Honey Creek, Iowa's beautiful Loess Hills.

We will only allow up to 10 members to participate in this event due to space being limited. Please pay at the event.

When: Saturday, January 23, 2009 (weather permitting)
Time: 1:00PM-2:00PM
Where: Hitchcock Nature Center
Cost: $5.00 per person includes a guided hike, refreshments and the use of snowshoes

It will be cold so please dress in warm light layers!

Recommended items to bring:


  • Jacket
  • Snow Pants or regular pants but with gaiters
  • Thermals
  • Wool Socks or 2 pairs of socks
  • Winter Boots
  • Stocking Cap
  • Snacks
  • Water
  • ChapStick
  • Sun Glasses

I wish there was more time to hike and I would have liked it to be a bit more strenuous but it was enough to get me hooked and want to enjoy snowshoeing again. The information Regina shared about the park was very interesting as well. ”
