Winter Wilderness Survival
Mandatory Class session: Tuesday, February 16th (7-9:30p.m.)
Field session: Saturday, February 20th & Sunday, February 21st
(Trip will meet Friday night at Hitchcock Nature Preserve at 5:00 p.m.)
The workshop combines a class portion with a winter outdoor survival practical experience. It focuses on how to survive winter in the wilderness while waiting for rescue by; fire by friction, building fires, preparing drinking water, creating warm shelters and proper clothing selections. This course is a prerequisite for Advance Wilderness Survival offered in March 2010.
